World Toilet Day

On World Toilet Day each year, our pupils launch their fundraising efforts for our "Spend a Penny Campaign". By collecting small change each day in a potty at the school gates, we have already raised enough money to build toilets in Uganda, South Sudan and Afghanistan, and are busy collecting for our fourth toilet. Our Prayer Leaders take it in turns to decide where our next toilet will be built.

This contributes to Catholic Social Teaching: Distributive Justice, which states that God’s plan was for all people to share in the goods of this world. This means that no person should struggle to have the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter, clothing and access to toilets and water.

“All who believed were together and had all things in common.” Acts 2:44-45

So far, we have built these toilets in disadvantaged communities: Catholic Social Teaching in Action!
