The Big Sleep

Our Prayer Leaders have been very inspired by "The Big Sleep" fundraising and awareness raising project run by The Rainbow Centre. The 2022 event was originally planned for September but was postponed until the Spring due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. However, our Prayer Leaders are very passionate about supporting this initiative in school without delay and are raising money by asking pupils to wear their pyjamas to school and consider sleeping somewhere other than their own beds for one night - this could be the floor, a tent, under a table or even in the bath - anywhere that is not their own bed.

This links to Catholic Social Teaching: Preferential Option for the Poor, which means that we think first about the needs of those who are the most vulnerable.

‘Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.’ Isaiah 1:17
